From Bash, Shadow Lounge, Liquid, Shine at The Shelborne, The Fifth, Karu & Y, MI-VI to Trio on The Bay… Gerry Kelly has been a Miami Nightlife Icon for years and has thrown some of the most extravagant, celebrity filled parties of all-time.

10 Questions with Gerry:

1. How did you get into the nightlife profession?

I was a famous couture designer in Ibiza with a large following, got invited to do a show in Pacha, 4000 people showed and I was offered to be their party promoter/marketing director afterwards. In 1992 Sean Penn and Simply Red’s Mick Hucknell invited me to the US to run Bash Nightclub.

2. What is your favorite part of working in the nightlife profession?

Being creative. I love to entertain and produce grand events.

3. What is the hardest part of working in the nightlife profession?

Keeping a consistent following.

4. What is your favorite type of music?

Oh I love it all from Streisand to Usher. I am also a big Sarah Brightman fan.

5. What do you think makes a really good party?

I think it is a combination of a great concept, strategic marketing, greats set design and out of this world entertainment.

6. What is your favorite club/venue in South Florida (Miami, Ft. Lauderdale) and why?

I love the Ziff Opera House and Magnums lounge and restaurant when I am not entertaining at Trio on The Bay.

7. What is something you wish people outside of the nightlife industry knew?

I love to go to the opera, get up at 5am, work out daily before heading to the office.

8. What is something interesting about you personally that you would like people to know?

I design women’s haute couture.

9. What parties or events are you currently doing?

Miami Spice daily at Trio on The Bay and Party like a Rockstar on Saturday nights with Dj NYX after dinner in our ultra lounge.

10. Any upcoming parties or events you’re excited about?

Trio on The Bay hosts regular corporate and private parties during the day. I am currently in the works of producing an amazing New Years Eve Gala with three dinner seating’s and an incredible NYE Ball afterwards.
